Lady Midnight By Cassandra Clare Book Review

By, Kylie Heit

Cassandra Clare came out with another breathtaking series beginning with Lady Midnight. Shadowhunter Emma Carstairs is on a mission to solve the mystery of her parents’ brutal murder. Throughout this enticing and attention grabbing book, Emma struggles between her feelings towards her parabatai (best friend and battle partner) Julian Blackthorn (they can never fall in love because if they do a curse will befall them and they will end up destroying everything that they care about) and her thirst for revenge for her parents’ deaths.

If you are a reader who enjoys a complicated romance and action story then this is the book for you. Cassandra Clare does an absolutely amazing job when it comes to describing characters. The way she describes things with word choice and the like, it's almost like you can actually connect with the characters and put yourself in the book. One of my favorite character is Livia Blackthorn, Julians younger sister. This is because she is a 15 year old struggling with not being treated her age by her “parents” and wanting to do more than she is being allowed to do. In my personal experience, I get so wrapped up in the story that I almost feel like I am watching a movie inside my head. All in all, Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare is a very very good book that I definitely recommend to read if you are into romance and action. I already loved reading books by Clare, and I would definitely say that I had high expectations for this book; it met all of them.
