Gamer (Girl) Trying to Survive: Level 1 (Origins)

Updated: Feb 20, 2019

Hello Bruins! I'm Gamer (Girl). I'm not telling you my actual name though you can figure that out for ourselves if you choose to, and I am here to tell you about the latest games and movies (sometimes); I will also will be giving you my review and tips on games.

Now, a few of you might be wondering "Why do you say that you are trying to survive?" Well the answer to that is just like everyone else that might be not considered normal (gamers, nerds, etc.) I am just trying to push through. Also, it might have to do with the fact I am self diagnosed with depression, but I can't say for certain. And yes, I actually do play video games, thank you very much.

When it comes to playing games, I usually steer clear of shooting games or any games that involve violence if I can help it. This is mostly because I am a Jehovah's Witness and I really just don't like anything that involves blood. Some of the games I play might seem childish to some, but that's probably because they don't involve violence and if they do then there is no blood included. The games I find myself playing the most, of course this is when I can, are Animal Crossing: New Leaf , Castle Cats (I know its a phone game, but to me it counts), Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery (also a phone game), Splatoon 2, Smash Bros. Ultimate, or sometimes Fantasia: Music Evolved. Other games I play/ have played are Epic Mickey 2 : Power of Two (in the middle of playing); Disney Infinity ; Lego Dimensions (currently playing); Sonic Colors (currently playing), Sonic Generations (finished playing), Sonic Forces (finished playing, it's a good game despite what people say about it), Sonic Mania (currently playing), Sonic 06 (stopped playing due to glitches. I only got it because of Silver the hedgehog), Sonic and the Black Knight (stopped playing due to the battle between King Arthur and Sonic), and Sonic Free Riders ( Xbox 360 Kinect Version); Splatoon (finished playing); Zelda: Breath of the Wild (stopped playing because I ran out of time to find the ruins); Sims 4: Pets (don't judge). There are many more games I've played or am in the middle of playing because I keep running out of time to play.

I want to say I started playing video games around 2nd grade or maybe sooner than that. I would play on any console that I could lay my hands on or I was allowed to play at the time. From Playstation to Wii, anything that had a game that was age appropriate, I would play it. I'm not exactly sure what sparked my enthusiasm for video games, but I guess it just runs in the family. I can't recall what console I played first on, but I remember playing an older DS that had an older Zelda, playing Viva Pinata on my dad's Xbox 360 (it's my siblings and my Xbox now), and some older zoo type games and Rabbids. A lot of these games I don't have anymore and have never been replaced, but I'm doing what I can to do some of these games back (I don't remember all the titles of the games though).

I've continued playing video games and they have in a sense become one of my ways to escape or just to calm my anxieties and depression.
