CHS Volleyball Reigns over State

Updated: Dec 19, 2018

Capital High Volleyball team earned first in state for the first time in 13 years. With the final game score against Bozeman being 23-25, 25-19, 25-22, 27-25. The Bruins won all but 1 of the matches, leading them to the state championship. Celebrating their win, the team rode on a Helena fire truck November 15th.

The team remained energetic even in the times that it didn’t seem like they were going to win. Nicole Ames said that the fact that they won state was exciting but also nerve racking. She claims the reason they won was because they had played together for years and had amazing chemistry.

Starter Sarah Ashley says that the final game was super intense and emotional. She says the reason they won is much like Ames said: they were on the same page. Finally, she says after losing a game they had to gain their confidence back, and they did.
